Trump may continue to harm farmers
There is great fear among farmers in Virginia and North Carolina after the floods of this past weekend. Many farmers in both states had major losses of crops and equipment from the floods. The farmers especially in Virginia are concerned that Donald Trump will not sign off on disaster relief. Trump has in the past punished states that did not vote for him in the 2024 elections. North Carolina farmers have the same uneasiness but not to the extent of Virginia farmers, since Trump did win North Carolina in the 2024 election. The areas in both states are represented by republicans in the U.S. House. In Virginia it is Morgan Griffith and in North Carolina it is Virginia Foxx. Will these two continue to place Donald Trump above their own voters? We will see but farmers beware.

There is good news coming out of North Carolina. In the latest polling, Roy Cooper, the Democrat running to replace republican senator Thom Tillis has the lead over his republican challenger. The republican is having problems getting above 40% in any polling data. This polling suggests that Roy Cooper maybe the next Senator from North Carolina. Young people of North Carolina go to the polls and vote for Cooper, keep the pressure on the republicans.
North Carolina Abortion Bill
Three republican house members from North Carolina filed House Bill 1232, which would change the North Carolina Constitution to say life begins at fertilization. The bill would give any fertilized egg the full protection of the law. Any woman having an abortion after fertilization would be guilty of first-degree murder. The three republican male sponsors of the bill were Keith Kidwell, Bill Moss, and Bill Ward. The women of North Carolina rebelled against the proposed bill and the sponsors pull the bill from consideration. The women of North Carolina are tired of white, republican, politicians telling them what to do with their bodies. Good job women of North Carolina
The Democratic voters of North Carolina showed they understood the danger to North Carolina if Mark Robinson had been elected governor. CNN had published an account of Robinson making racist and inflammatory remarks on a pornography website. Robinson denied the claim and brought a 50-million-dollar lawsuit against CNN for finding the story. Robinson said, he lied to protect himself and Donald Trump. Young people of North Carolina good job eliminating Robinson from being governor.
It could not be a North Carolina election without a republican candidate wanting to throw out or recheck certain ballots. This time it is Phil Berger the republican NC Senate leader who wants to look at certain ballots, Berger lost by 23 votes to Sam Page in the republican primary. NC election officials said no to the request. They are planning to do the normal recount process.
Americans are starting to see and report the harm done by the Billionaire Tax Cut Budget bill signed into law by Donald J. Trump. A family from North Carolina reported that without the Obama care subsidy their health insurance bill has risen to $2400 per month or $28,800 per year. The republican party was aware this would happen and yet happily voted to cut taxes for billionaires and put the shaft to average Americans. When will white America stop voting for racism and start voting to help themselves?
A three-judge federal panel has allowed North Carolina to use its midterm gerrymandered map in the 2026 election. The judge dismissed arguments from black and Hispanic groups that the new map was unconstitutional because it was political retaliation and diluted their voting power. The three-judge panel were all appointed by Donald Trump. They said the new map was simple partisan gerrymandering, which the US Supreme Court ruled was legal. This panels ruling differs from the Texas ruling where a three-judge federal panel did not allow the new map, because it diluted black and Hispanic voters. It is now up to the US Supreme Court to confirmed again, that discriminating against black and Hispanic voters is ok under the U.S. Constitution.
There was yet another mass shooting this past weekend in the United States. This time it was near Maxton, North Carolina in Roberson County. The shooting killed two people and critically injured 11. The shooting occurred at a large party in rural North Carolina around 1:00 a.m. There have not been any arrests in the shooting. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Roberson County Sheriff’s Department. One of the people killed was a 16-year-old and the other was 49. Bullets do not care about age or sex. Young people the violence must stop. You must vote out republicans to establish sensible gun laws; thoughts and prayers are not working.
North Carolina republicans have made good on their threat to cheat on the 2028 elections by redrawing Congressional district maps to benefit republican candidates. The last redrawn map took three seats from Democrats in Congress and led us to this disgusting state of nothing but bad leadership in Washington. The newly redrawn map would likely make it possible for only two Democrats to win seats in North Carolina. Why do republicans fear voters, North Carolina is a state where most state wide offices are held by Democrats except US Senate seats. If the new maps stand North Carolina and Texas will ensure republicans continue to control the House of Representatives and Donald Trump will remain unchecked as he takes away American democracy. Young people you must vote for Democrats or you will see Donald Trump or another republican destroying the country for who knows how long.

Donald Trump’s scheme to keep control of the House is being followed to the letter by most republican controlled states. In the last redrawing of congressional maps North Carolina republicans were able to steal three seats that had been held by Democrats. These three seats were the seats that gave republicans control of the House and led to the Billionaire Tax Cut Budget Bill. The United State Supreme Court is likely to do nothing about the stealing of congressional seats as they have ruled that only state courts can intervene in gerrymandering matters in each state. Young people of North Carolina you are losing your voice to have future impacts in North Carolina. North Carolina republicans do not answer to you; they are owned by Donald Trump. North Carolina Central University defeated North Carolina A&T University by a score of 62 to 20. NCCU got off to a quick lead by scoring 17 points in the first quarter. They then out scored A&T by 25 points in the second half. Chris Mosley had a huge day for NCCU as he scored 5 touchdowns on the day. He rushed for 168 yards and had 90 receiving. Capping off the day Mosley added a 75 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Flags in North Carolina will be flown at half staff on Saturday, September 13th to honor Major Flags General Joseph McNeil. McNeil was one of four NC A&T freshman students who refused to leave the whites only Woolworth lunch counter when Woolworth refused to serve them. This act of defiance sparked the young people of America to become more active in the Civil Rights Movement. Young people of North Carolina can honor McNeil by registering to vote and then vote Democratic.

Roy Cooper former Democratic governor of North Carolina plans to run for the open U.S. Senate seat in North Carolina. The seat is currently held by republican Thom Tillis. Tillis has announced he will not be seeking re-election. Cooper has a long history of serving the people of North Carolina. He was a two-term governor, attorney general, and state senator. The people of North Carolina could not find a better person to be their next U.S. Senator.

Moore failed to report the transactions. The people of Morganton, Shelby, and Gastonia should ask Moore about his illegal, but profitable trades. Donald J. (Job Killer) Trump has once again refused to provide FEMA aid to help Western North Carolina recover from Hurricane Helene. There will be no funds coming to Western North Carolina from FEMA. It is ironic that Trump criticized Joe Biden and FEMA for helping in Western North Carolina and yet he has done absolutely nothing.
North Carolina’s republican legislature continues to abuse North Carolina voters. The republican legislature passed Senate Bill 382, which provided insufficient funding to the Western North Carolina victims of Hurricane Helene. The bill shifted the authority to appoint members to the State Board of Elections from the governor, where it has been for the past 100 years. The authority will now be under the control of State Auditor republican Dave Boliek. If the State Board of Elections had been under the control of republican Boliek before the last election. It is certain that over 68,000 North Carolina legally cast votes would have been rejected so republican Jefferson Griffin could have been declared the winner of the North Carolina Supreme Court election instead of the true winner Allison Riggs. North Carolina voters need to learn that republicans in the state are cheats and will do anything to keep power. The republicans now have gotten the Federal Department of Justice to help them in their efforts to bypass the will of the voters. Breaking news Jefferson Griffin will not appeal Federal District Court ruling that legal votes cannot be thrown out after an election. Allison Riggs will continue to hold her seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court after defeating Griffin by 734 votes.
Federal District Court Judge, Richard Myers, rules that all disputed votes from the 2024 North Carolina Supreme Court race MUST remain in the final count. This ruling will make Allison Riggs the Democrat the winner. Riggs received 734 more votes than republican Jefferson Griffin and the numbers were confirmed by two recounts. Griffin and the republican party wanted to throw out enough votes until Griffin was declared the winner. The judge ruled that you cannot change the rules of voting after the vote has taken place. He ordered the North Carolina State Board of Elections to certify Allison Riggs as the rightful winner. A Federal Appeals court has ruled that the North Carolina board of elections cannot contact voters about their ballots that republicans feel may not be legit. The republicans continue to want to toss out legally cast ballots in mainly democratic voting areas. A North Carolina trial court must now decide the next step in this power grab by republicans. When will enough be enough for North Carolina republicans. They lost the election, yet six months later they continue their effort to steal an election.
North Carolina Appeals Court rules in favor of republican Jefferson Griffin’s, effort to overturn the November 2024 North Carolina Supreme Court election. Griffin lost the election and two recounts affirmed his loss to Democrat, Allison Riggs. Griffin then went after voters by claiming they were illegally cast in Democratic leaning counties, due to administrative errors. Griffin did not go after voters in republican leaning counties. Griffin and the republicans only claim illegal voting in the North Carolina Supreme Court race, not any of the other races decided on election day. The ruling requires the 65,000 legal voters 15 days to prove they could legally vote. If they do not confirm in 15 days that they are legal voters, their votes will no longer be counted. This ruling will make Jefferson Griffin the new Supreme Court Justice, overriding the will of voters. Republicans, Jefferson Griffin, and republican Appeals Court judges, John Tyson and Fred Gore have proven that lying and cheating are fine, if it takes away democracy that does not benefit republicans. Why are Tyson and Gore allowed to be judges? Their actions are so outrageous, it defies common sense and the law. The removal was due to Donald Trump wanting to remove all signs of DEI along with any references to accomplishments by minorities. Donald Trump freezes $175 million in federal funding to Pennsylvania University and $400 million in federal funding to Columbia University. The funds were frozen to attack the universities for not following orders from Donald Trump. Pennsylvania’s wrong doing per Trump was over a transgender swimmer. The Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department purpose was to protect minorities from discrimination. Under Dhillon leadership the Division will no longer follows it purpose but work actively to not allow discrimination of minorities in America. A group of Montana youth ages 5 to 22 brought a lawsuit against the State over Climate Change. The youth argued that the state did not consider climate change when approving fossil fuel projects. The youth were sucessful with their lawsuit. Julia Olson founder of Our Children Trust brought the lawsuit on behalf of the youth. Olson stated, "this is a huge win for Montana, for youth, for democracy, and for the climate. The State of Montana plans to appeal the decision to the state Supreme Court. Jefferson Griffin for his part has filed lawsuit after lawsuit to get the will of the voters overturned. The North Carolina Supreme Court has 5 republicans and 1 Democrat on the court. All five republicans voted not to certify Riggs the winnner. They appears to agree with Griffin that 60,000 votes should not be counted and this action would likely make Griffin the delcared winner.
